Mansfield News Journal, September, 6, 1987 Services for John G. Torski, 89, formerly of 955 McPherson St. who died Friday, will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Diamond Street Home of the Wappner Funeral Directors by the Rev. R. J. Hahn of Ontario United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army. Born July 16, 1898 in Austria-Hungary, Mr. Torski lived in Mansfield most of his life. He was a weigh master for Mansfield Grain Elevator. Surviving are his wife Agatha A., two daughters, Marjorie A. Pringle of Mansfield and Mrs. Alex (Gertrude) Treneff of Newark, one son, John P. of Mansfield, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. | |||
Mansfield News Journal, December 20, 1992 Agatha A. Torski, 89, of 955 McPherson St. died unexpectedly Saturday at Heritage Care Center. She was born Jan. 5, 1903, in Austria-Hungary, the daughter of Anton and Barbara Naumann Rebel, and lived in Mansfield since 1931. Mrs. Torski was formerly employed by JCPenney Co., Mansfield Tire and Rubber Co. and Dominion Electric for 23 years. Surviving are a son, John P. Torski of Mansfield; two daughters, Marjorie Pringle of Mansfield and Gertrude Treneff of Newark; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Lemley of Lexington and Marcella Bowden of Newark; two brothers, Phil Rabel of Mansfield and Frank Rebel of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John G. Torski; five brothers, Tony, Val, Max, Pete and Joe Rabel; and a sister Eve. Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, where services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. Richard Parks of the Ontario United Methodist church. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Heritage Care Center. | |||
