Mansfield News Journal, July 4, 1967 The Rev. Richard Yaussy officiated at the nuptial rite which united Miss Shirlie Kay Phillips and Mr. John Marius Starcher in marriage. The couple spoke their vows on June 25 at 2:30 p.m. before the altar of the Ontario Community church. Miss Phillips is the daughter of Mrs. Marjorie A. Phillips, 2075 Willowood Dr. South, and Mr. Roy H. Phillips, Bellevue. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Starcher, 1051 Brookdale Dr., Crestline, are parent of the bridegroom. Escorted to the front of the sanctuary and given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of organza over taffeta. It was styled with a fitted bodice featuring a sculptured neckline and Kabuki sleeves. Chantilly lace appliques outlined the sleeves, neckline and pencil slim skirt. The chapel length train extended from a large flat bow at the waistline. A peau de sole bonnet with bow trim held Miss Phillips’ bouffant veil of imported bridal illusion. Preceding the bride to the altar was her sister, Mrs. Nick Patrick, who served as honor attendant. Miss Glenna Prosser acted as bridesmaid in the wedding party. Mr. Starcher’s brother, Mr. David Starcher, assisted him as best man. Guests were escorted by Mr. John Ickes, Crestline, Mr. Nick Patrick and Mr. John Musille. Immediately following the service, the couple received their 200 guests at a reception held in the home of the bridegroom’s parents. The couple left for a motor trip throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia and are now at home at 2075 Wiliowood Dr. South. The new Mrs. Starcher is a graduate of Ontario High School and is employed as a receptionist at Kelly Girl Sevice Inc. Mr. Starcher, a graduate of Ontario High School, attended The Ohio State University. He is associated with his father at the Ontario Tool and Machine Co., Ontario, and the Geauga Plastics, Crestline. | |||
