The Mansfield News, Saturday, January 19, 1924 EAST FOURTH STREET WOMAN DIES SUDDENLY Mrs. Peter Wervey, aged 70 years, died last evening at the family home, 271 East Fourth street, after a brief illness. Besides the husband, she is survived by three daughters, Miss Florence Wervey, and Mrs. Harvey Wilkinson, Mansfield, and Mrs. Fred Campbell, Galion, six sons, Theodore Wervey, Cleveland, Alois, of Alliance, Louis of Denver, Colo., Fred of Hargin, Mont., Aiden and Otto of this city, and 13 grandchildren. Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed. Mansfield News Journal, Wednesday, May 5, 1943 DIES AT 92 - Peter J. Wervey Had Lived In Mansfield 64 Years. Peter J. Wervey, native of Trier, Germany, died Tuesday evening at his home, 275 East Fourth street, following a lingering illness. He was 92 years old. Born Aug. 5, 1850 Mr. Wervey came to the United States when he was two years old. He lived in Kenosha, Wis., for 26 years before moving to Mansfield in 1879. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Harry Wilkinson, and Miss Florence Wervey, both of Mansfield, and Mrs. Louise Campbell, Galion; six sons, Theodore, Cleveland, Alois, Alliance, Fred, Burchwood, Wis., and Otto, Andrew, and Louis, all of Mansfield; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic church with Msgr. R. C. Goebel officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Catholic cemetery. | |||
Mansfield News Journal, Monday, June 16, 1975 Andrew J. Wervey, 82, of 312 Glessner Ave. died Sunday afternoon at his home after suffering a heart attack. Born in Mansfield, Sept. 2, 1892, he was a retired employe of the state. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and the Mansfield Liederkranz. He is survived by one sister, Miss Florence Wervey of 312 Glessner Ave. Friends may call at the Geiger-Herlihy Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6 to 9. Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. The vigil service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 7 p.m. |
