Mansfield News Journal, September 25, 1937 MISS MARY HUBER BRIDE IN IMPRESSIVE SERVICE Lovely Wedding Ceremony of Early Autumn United Mansfield Girl and Frederick E. Wilkinson at 11 O’Clock Today. BEFORE an altar banked with ferns, palms and yellow chrysanthemums, Miss Mary Catherine Huber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. Huber, 122 Glenwood boulevard, was married this morning to Frederick E. Wilkinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wilkinson, 134 Helen Avenue, in an impressive ceremony at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Ready of Washington, uncle of the bride, read the service. Raymond Baum presided at the organ. The bride’s gown was of ivory satin.  A pintucked bodice allowed the skirt to fall very full in front and in back, and formed a long wide train. Seed pearls were embroidered on the gown beneath the Queen Christina collar. Her cap was Juliet style with a circular shoulder veil to which was attached a full length veil. The bride carried an ivory prayer book showered with gardenias, lillies of the valley and white heather. Miss Huber was given away by her father. Miss Eleanor Huber was her sister’s maid of honor and wore a full skirted gown of pink moire. The velvet trim of her dress and her accessories were fusia. She carried a tiny muff of the same color to which was attached a shower bouquet of pompons. The bridesmaids, the Misses Elizabeth Lamiell and Ellen Walsh, wore dresses similar in style to that of the maid of honor. Miss Lamiell’s was rose colored while Miss Walsh’s was blue. Their flowers and acccessories were the same as those of the maid of honor. Edward Wilkinson, brother of the bridegroom, was the best man. Ushers were Robert Marshall and William Quigley, Akron. A wedding breakfast was served at the Women’s Club for 40 guests after the ceremony. In the afternoon a reception for friends and relatives of the couple was held at the Huber house. After the reception Mr. and Mrs. Wilkinson left for New York City. The bride wore a black wool dress and a red coat with black fox trim and black accessories. Gardenias formed her shoulder corsage. The bride is a graduate of Mt. Marie academy, Canton, and St. Thomas School of Nursing, Akron. She is on the staff of the Mansfield Visiting Nurses. Mr. Wilkinson graduated from St. Peter’s high school and the University of St. Louis. He is employed in the office of the Ohio Public Service company. Out-of-town guests for the wedding were: Mrs. Frank Brazos, MIddletown Conn.; Mr. and Mrs. James Walsh, Barberton; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Slovacool, Akron; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bauman and family, Waterford, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Link, Painesville; Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Wervey, Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wervey, Alliance; and Mr. and Mrs. James Marshall and Miss Helen Marshall, Piqua. | |||
